We are committed to creating a safe and positive environment for young people. This policy applies to all staff and volunteers associated with Power Pickleball Ltd and Pickleball England (pbE).

Our Commitment

  • All under-18s have the right to enjoy pickleball safely
  • We take all concerns seriously and act swiftly
  • We work with parents, carers and safeguarding agencies

Not Permitted

Adults working with young people must never:

  • Be alone with a child or transport them alone
  • Invite them to their home or share rooms
  • Engage in inappropriate touching or behaviour
  • Use suggestive language or unprofessional communication
  • Ignore or fail to act on concerns
  • Contact young people privately without parental consent

Breaches of these rules will result in investigation and possible disciplinary action.

Whistleblowing & Reporting

We encourage reporting of all concerns. Confidentiality is respected, and support is available. Contact safeguarding@pickleballengland.org or the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000.

Positions of Trust

Adults in coaching or leadership roles must maintain professional boundaries at all times. Relationships with under-18s are strictly prohibited.

Warning Signs of Abuse

Be aware of:

  • Unexplained injuries
  • Sudden mood changes or withdrawal
  • Inappropriate sexual knowledge or behaviour
  • Poor hygiene or basic needs not met
  • Running away or risky behaviour
